Jessica Schrenkel, AAS, CVT, LVT, VTS (ECC) Emergency and Critical Care Nurse, Shift Lead

Jess S.

Jessica is an experienced Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) nurse and shift lead with over 15 years of hands-on work in emergency veterinary medicine. From a young age, she was drawn to the field—starting as a volunteer at a local cat shelter in middle school and later earning her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Medicine from SUNY Delhi. She is credentialed as a Certified Veterinary Technician in Pennsylvania, a Licensed Veterinary Technician in New York, and has achieved her Veterinary Technician Specialty in Emergency and Critical Care. Jessica is also Fear Free Certified.

Her greatest professional reward comes from mentoring newer nurses and helping critically ill patients recover and reunite with their families. Her leadership and compassion are central to her role, both in the hospital and beyond.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys arts and crafts, spending time outdoors, and advocating for mental health awareness. She serves as the shelter manager and co-coordinator for MCART (Montgomery County Animal Response Team) and is also a national field responder for the ASPCA. Jessica shares her life with her husband, Jordan, who works in public service and leads a local nonprofit’s period supply program. While she and Jordan recently lost their beloved cats—Sir Goose Goose Hammington of the Silent Mews and Madam Khoshekh Pew Pew Schrodinger—their memory continues to inspire the work Jessica does every day.
